Media Alert: nuBridges Gary Palgon to Share Insights into What is Next for PCI DSS Compliance

GAISSA 2008 Information Security Conference
Loudermilk Center, Atlanta, GA–October 8th, 2008

Information security expert Gary Palgon, vice president of Product Management for nuBridges, will discuss how companies can ensure compliance with the ever-evolving Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) at the Metro Atlanta Information Systems Security Association’s 2008 Information Security Conference. Palgon oversees product direction at nuBridges, a leading provider of software and managed services for secure eBusiness, including managed file transfer, B2B gateway integration and data protection technologies and services.

TitleWhat’s in store for PCI compliance?
The convergence of data at rest and in motion
Overview

For most retailers, complying with PCI DSS was their first foray into protecting customer information. The PCI Security Standards Council (SSC) released a new version of the mandate in September 2008. As PCI DSS evolves to stay ahead of criminal data theft and accidental data loss, so does the need for sophisticated encryption key management, better backup and archiving security, and more advanced log management.

Palgon will provide a snapshot of the current mandate, examine how companies have faltered in their quest to adequately protect consumer data, and present a view on how PCI DSS may evolve over the next three to five years. He will also provide topical advice on what IT managers should consider moving forward and make recommendations on how companies can prepare now for the changing PCI DSS requirements, whatever they may be.
