nuBRIDGES EXCHANGE i™ – PGP

Add PGP Security to nuBridges FTP Server and FTP Client

nuBridges offers an optional PGP module that runs natively on IBM i for customers who want to add PGP encryption to nuBridges Exchange i FTP Server or FTP Client.

Increasingly, PGP encryption is becoming a mandated requirement for digital file transfers among business partners – particularly in industries such as banking, financial services and healthcare – to comply with the security requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), HIPAA and numerous government privacy acts. For example, if you use FTP to transmit issue files or Automated Clearing House (ACH) files to Bank of America, the bank requires the use of PGP to encrypt the data prior to sending it over the Internet.

The PGP module is a complete PGP encryption, decryption, signing and key management solution for IBM i. Features include:

  • Key management runs natively on IBM i – no need for a separate server
  • Manage public and private keys
  • Create keys, export public keys to trading partners, import trading partner public keys, administer key lists and revocation
  • DB2 and IFS file encryption/decryption
  • CL command interface
  • Automation of any PGP task with user definable recovery
  • Integrates with FTP for on-the-fly encryption; often referred to as FTP PGP
  • ASCII armor output support
  • Interoperable with PGP Corporation and McAfee Associates PGP products OpenPGP and GnuPGP
  • Encryption algorithm support
  • Hash support for SHA-1 and MD5

Once you have licensed any other nuBridges Exchange i module, you can add the optional PGP module and use it for any PGP encryption you want to perform on the IBM i. This software is in production use for PGP encryption by customers such as Aeropostale, Delta Dental, McKesson Medical Surgical, Mohawk Industries, Sally Beauty, Stein Mart and The Hearst Corporation . Contact nuBridges to learn more – we’d be delighted to answer your questions and show you the capabilities of nuBridges PGP software.

The IBM i platform is also known as AS/400, AS400, iSeries, System i and i5. nuBridges Exchange i supports the platform by any name.
